“A New Beginning at St. John’s Ukasi — the Bishop leads the faithful in prayer and dedication as the parish breaks ground for a new church building.”
Bishop’s Visit to St. John’s Parish, Ukasi
A New Beginning
On 5th October 2025, St. John’s Parish, Ukasi, came alive with song, dance, and heartfelt worship as the Bishop, accompanied by a diocesan team, visited the parish for the long-awaited Groundbreaking service. It brought the Bishop and his Chaplain, the Archdeacon and the Administrative secretary as well as the Mothers Union Coordinator. Ukasi was represented by Rev Maria, the Vicar and Rev Bismark who hails from there.
The visit marked the fulfillment of a long-standing request by the parish, as members prepare to put up a permanent church structure. The joyous congregation gathered under a makeshift tent—symbolizing both resilience and faith—to celebrate this milestone moment.
At the project site, the Bishop led the faithful in prayer and dedication, committing the construction and the vision of the parish to God’s guidance and provision. The atmosphere was one of hope, unity, and thanksgiving as the church took a bold step toward realizing its dream of a permanent home for worship.
The PCC was grateful for the visit and promised to embark on building as soon as possible.
This visit not only reaffirmed the Bishop’s pastoral connection with the people of Ukasi but also strengthened the parish’s resolve to grow in faith and mission.
